How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 5s, 5c, 5, 4s, 4 with evasi0n7: Cydia Ready

You may already be aware that the evasiOn7 jailbreaking tool has been released. This tool was released to the public by the evad3rs team, and it’s the only free untethered jailbreak tool for iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s and 5c: not only does it support Apple’s latest iOS 7.0.6, but it also supports the 7.0.5, 7.0.4, 7.0.3, 7.0.2, 7.0.1 and the 7.0. The tool itself is actually quite easy to use, but we’ve decided to provide a complete tutorial on the right way to jailbreak the iOS 7 through iOS 7.0.6 on all the supported iPhone terminals.

If jailbreaking your iPhone is not something you’ve tried before, then there’s a very exciting world of add-ons and tweaks awaiting you. Forget what you’ve heard before about voiding your warranty: this is not correct, and in addition it’s very easy to uninstall a jailbreak, returning your iPhone to its original condition – your device can be restored through iTunes. iTunes, all your backups and apps, and the App Store can also be accessed as usual.

What is Jailbreak?

Before we start this tutorial, let’s begin by clarifying what jailbreaking is. Basically, it’s pretty-much hacking into the iOS of your Apple iPhone and preparing it for customization. You’ll end up with customization very similar to an Android device: you can select from many custom apps that are not available to you in the Apple iStore, and you can choose how you want your device to look and feel.

For most people the greatest gift is tethering – the ability of the iPhone to become a mobile modem for a laptop. Using USB or WiFi and its 3G internet connection, the iPhone can be connected to the laptop for use while on the move – absolutely fantastic for web browsing and sending emails while out and about.

There are other tweaks including features similar to the new Control Centre in iOS 7, except these are better because they allow you to delete or add icons, something you couldn’t do as a standard in iOS 7.

If you’re one of the many, many people who have been patiently waiting to jailbreak your iOS 7.0.6, we’re happy to walk you through this process from start to finish.

Before you proceed with the jailbreak, please read everything very carefully.

To begin with you will require the following:

  • The latest version of iTunes must be installed on your Mac or Windows PC, then download the evasiOn7 jailbreak tool for Windows or Mac.
  • We highly recommend that you restore to the latest iOS 7.0.6 on your device through iTunes (not OTA) prior to running evasiOn7. In the past, OTA updates have been known to create problems with the process of jailbreaking.
  • Ensure that there’s no Touch ID or lock screen passcode set on your iOS device. Passcode lock can be disabled from ‘Settings’. –> General –> Touch ID & Passcode –> Turn Passcode Off.
  • Before jailbreaking remember to back up your data to your PC via iTunes or to iCloud.

Instructions on How to Jailbreak iOS 7.0/7.0.6

Step 1: Download evasiOn7 for Mac or Windows. It is recommended to use evasi0n7 only from the official website, considering that the jailbreak developers release various updates.

Once the download is on your computer, exit iTunes if still running on your computer.

Step 2: Make the connection between your iPhone and your computer and double-click the evasiOn7 icon to start it. The jailbreak tool will automatically recognize your iPhone version, and its name will be displayed along with the installed version of iOS 7.x.

Step 3: Click on ‘jailbreak’ to begin the process. In a series of automated steps evasiOn7 will now perform the jailbreak.

Just sit back and relax. Allow the process to complete. This could take a few minutes.

Step 4: Once this process has completed, you will be informed by evasiOn7 that to continue you must unlock your iPhone and tap the new ‘evasiOn 7’ app icon now on your device’s home screen. Keep your device connected and tap the app icon: it will restart automatically.

Step 5: Now that the reboot is complete, evasiOn7 will keep working on the final touches before asking that you again unlock your device. It will reboot again once you unlock it, and this will be followed by a ‘Done!’ screen.

Step 6: You’ll notice that Cydia will now be on the home screen of your device. Exit the evasiOn7 application, disconnect your computer from your device, and start Cydia!

Now that the jailbreak is complete, pop into Cydia in order to update it. The file system will update automatically, however they may be other updates you should install.

And that’s it! Enjoy your new device!
